Deadmans stock went up in my book for the STRIPES reference, but I dont want him to be our Big Toe. Its the hype that we all hate (if I may speak for the masses) not the kid himself. I like the idea of having him in the backfeild, albeit not as much as I would have liked other RBs we could have gotten later on, for less money, if we would have traded down. I dont really like flashy backs, it seems they have two types of runs when they get to the NFL, 10+ yard gains or 3+ yard losses. If you look at it like QBs: out of 10 passes you get 6 completions & 4 sacks your not moving the chains. Rbs if your 4 yard average comes from one 25 yard gain two 2 yard losses & two stops at the line, your not moving the chains. I think thats what we all fear from DMac. You never know when the big one is coming, but untill it gets here you get 2 & 3 yard gain, hammered in the backfield, getting as much as the line gives him & stoped on contact. I cant wait to see the kid pop off a big one, but I hope he can grind out the 4 to 6 yarders to he gets the one for 63.
