If The Assassin played in todays game, he would, more than likly, be the most feared LB in the game, but then again a large part on Raider safties played like LBs. The biggest prerequisit, to me, to being in the hall is impact on the game. If rules had to be changed because of the way you played, then you made a huge impact on the game. Ive heard "learned men" say that Butkus couldnt play in todays game because he couldnt cover well enough, but to me the only reason Butkus couldnt play in todays game is because hes 66 years old with 2 bad knees.
