The Heisman vote totals were as follows:

QB Troy Smith 2540 - 6'1", 215 lbs. Not the size teams want today. Completions 199 Attempts 297 Completion rate 67 Total passing yards 2507 Touchdown passess 30 Interceptions 5. Ran for 233 yards. Not a huge total. BIG arm, and accurate. Not really a runner like Young, but more of a scrambler like McNair. OVERWHELMING winner by a landslide. The voters liked him for some reason. Played mostly shotgun, but so did Young. Who wouldn't want Smith now?

HB Darren McFadden 878 - Big guy at 6'2", 205 lbs. Decent runner, had 6 games of less than 100 yards rushing, and 4 with over 150 yards rushing. Only 1 over 200. Had 1558 total rushing yards this season. 14 touchdowns. But, he's only a sophmore.

QB Brady Quinn 782 - 6'4", 227 lbs. The size everyone wants. Completions 274 Attempts 432 Completion rate 63.4 Total passing yards 3278 Touchdown passess 35 Interceptions 5. Learned under a good system. Should be another Tom Brady. Only 65 yards rushing this season.

HB Steve Slaton 214 - Decent size at 5'10", 185 lbs. Good runner, only two games all season with the Mountaineers where he ran for less than 100 yards. Had 6 games where he ran for over 150. 2 games of more than 200. Had 1733 rushing yards total this season. 16 touchdowns. But, he too, is only a sophmore.

HB Mike Hart 210 - Decent size at 5'9", 196 lbs. Good runner, only three games with less than 100 yards, and that was barely (91, 95, 92), only 2 games with more than 150 yards, and none over 200 yards, for a total of 1515. Scored 14 touchdowns. He's a junior

Colt Brennan 202
Ray Rice 79
Ian Johnson 73
Dwayne Jarrett 47
Calvin Johnson 43

So, I think that our first draft pick in 2007 should be one of those top four. I think I may have talked myself into wanting Quinn more than Smith. I think I like Steve Slaton, but does a sophmore as good as he is go into the draft that early? Probably not.
