Did anyone see Jim Rome rip the Raiders on his TV show yesterday. I guess that is nothing new. Jim Rome has always been a classic Raider Hater. He believes the Raiders will be the first team to ever go 0-16 in the regular season. I could care less about what Rome thinks however I believe we all do have to start thinking about the good chance that we will hold the #1 pick in the 2007 draft. This frustrates me because it feels like we are always one step behind. Or in this case, 1 year behind. Sure there will be some big time college players at the top of next years draft however there will be "NO" Reggie Bush!!! No Marrio Williams. No Vice Young. No Vernon Davis. All those guys were rare freaks of nature that only come along once every decade if that. The only guy I would have considered in that same FREAK category that might come out next year was RB Adrian Peterson. Now Peterson is out for the year with injury and will most likely stay in school for his senior season. Plus it is not like Al Davis would "EVER" draft one of the top QB's in college like Troy Smith, Brady Quinn, or Chris Leak. I mean Al recently passed on Matt Leinart, Ben Rothlessburger, and Philip Rivers. So what do we do? Trade down? Nope. Here is how it will go down........... With the first pick in the 2007 draft the Oakland Raiders select WR Tedd Ginn Jr. Just another track star on the fastest and worst team in football.
