| | If Chris Long is off the board, Al please trade down if possible
Adding the son of Howie to this defense would be amazing. OF course he is not expected to get past the Rams at #2 if the fish don't take him.
If he is gone by the time we pick, I truly hope that Al trades down. McFadden will likely be a very good back in the NFL, but running the ball is the one thing we did really well last year, and we are adding Michael Bush to the mix.
We have holes at DE, OT, DT that need to be filled... even another OLB to partner with the Firm would be more of a need than another back.
Please Al, trade down if we can't get Chris Long.

I agree with this topic, as do a lot of raider fans i believe, for the simple fact that we don't really need another back when what we really need are guys in the trenches.
Granted Gholsten or Dorsey would be pretty good acquisitions in my opinion. Its a matter of do we want to pay that much money for that pick. Also trading down could garner more picks which could lead to us getting a guy in the later rounds who turns out to be a diamond in the ruff like Brady was for the Pats.

i thinlk the best bet is to draft mcfadden. im not being greedy by saying this, but we are rebuilding right now. why not take him just to have an explosive player for our future along with all the other explosive young guns. we need to focus on offense period. we need to give russell the most threats around him as possible to make him great. i love the raiders to death but there is a good possibility that we wont make the playoffs for another couple of years. i think we can fill those other gaps through trade or through cuts after the draft. mcfadden is the best player in the draft and would be a steal if we took him knowing that we are rebuilding and it would make us even more competitve in the AFC and the AFC west. we are not playing in the WEAK NFC. i love fargas, bush , and rhodes i think lamont runs to stiff. i always thought bush was a steal in the 4th round but he could be a bust with future leg injurys. all our other backs are getting old. its either dmac or jake long.if you watch college football there are no other backs in the next four years that are going to amount to dmac or adrian peterson. we are lucky being put in this situstuion.

This is a big ??? for me.
My whole thinking on drafting McFad depends on Bush's health. If he's ready to go, then we don't 'need' McFad. I'm sure that by now the organization knows if Bush can go.

chances are Mc fad will drop to us, and if we do get him, we will be in the same situation as last year W/ Russel, WE CANT AFFORD a first round pic.. we have to trade down!, its for the best... unless like RaiderSithLord said only if long were to drop to us we should not trade down, but i highly doubt that....

If Long falls to 4, he was destined to be a RAIDER just like his dad.

McFadden is a good back but, I have to refer to your comments about Jordan. McFadden has the same problem... no wiggle and unlike jordan, he goes down on first contact. When you throw in the crowded backfield that we currently have and then factor in his stupidity off the field... I don't want anything to do with him.
We certainly have bigger needs such as offensive line and without question Defensive End.

I remember the days of Raider lines clearing paths that I could run for a C note behind, getting called for holding when there was none just because "noone can have that much time in the pocket without someone getting held". The only thing that comes close to being as important as an O-line is a D-line. If you can push a defence down the field you score points, if you can push as offence back onto itsself, you win football games. Trade down, get the big uglies, play Raider football.

We need to start drafting football players instead of athletes. Players like Sam Williams need to be jettisoned.

Unfortunately Lamont "You Big Dummy" Jordan made his unhappiness known around the time Bush could have been activated last season. The bald headed sucker threw a wrench in the whole plan!
