Default Raiders best past success outside the first round

Thoughts from the Dark Side | MVN - an Oakland Raiders blog » Blog Archive » Raiders later picks routinely outperfom their first rounder: Thoughts from a Readers Side

The results from the most recent draft are starting to sink in. LDizzle takes a look back at the last decade of Raider drafting and shows that the Raiders routinely do better with their second and third round picks than they do with the opening round.

I suspect that our 7th round pick will outshine everyone we added this year. This isn't a knock or jab at anyone. However, I think Chaz has the size speed and hands to wreak havoc out of the slot!

Ive always hated the first round & the higher the pick the more I hated it. It seems that the top players taken always have the attude that theyve made it, because they are millionaires that would have to try NOT to make the team, but the lower picks are busting their asses for a chance to get paid to play football. I guess thats why my favorite players have always been guys like Biekert , Hobbs & Curry, 2nd day or undradted guys that were hungry hard working contributers full of fight & love of the game.

Ya Damn Skippy! Darryl Hobbs, Greg Biekert, Marcus Knight, Justin Fargas, Oren O'neal & Jon Ritchie come to mind. They all busted their ass and they all had some kind of impact if they cracked the lineup!

Oren is one of my favorite Raiders right now... He blocks his ass off on every play. Gotta love that kid... I can tell he has a serious fire inside. A quiet fury!

He was kind of a quiet guy, but he smiled when I told him that any accolades or awards McFadden wins, he deserves credit for opening the holes.

If I go for a custom jersey, I may just get an O'Neal.

That kid pounded linebackers all season long... he picked up the blitz... He's clutch... an O'neal jersey would be pretty sweet!
