Bigger and faster than you thought... Hell all he had to do was look at the stats on a regular basis... Seriously Blue there is no excuse for him not expecting the growth. OM is an online fan community and Taco was in this to make the site grow... everyone is.
Speaking from my experiences in dealing with business customers who needed bandwith internet access and overall communications systems... I can tell you the ones who gave me the most grief were the ones who did not plan for realistic growth. Part of my job was to encourage costomers to purchase telecomm services that would provide room for expansion in the future....
Taco reminds me of clients that called my office to order minimal services because they were afraid to spend for the future. Customers who called in to order regular ADSL services when they actually needed SDSL or SDSL costomers who needed a DS0 ( T ) or DS1 - DS3 ( T1 - T3 ) lines... I won't even get into the goofballs who refused to order proper phone service... companies that have 100 employees and they want regular POTS ( Plain old telephone service ) lines instead of lines that handle voice and data ( ISDN, CENTREX or IP Centrex ) lines
The bottom line with my customers was always price... they would sell out their entire business over an increase of $1200.00 then call back 3 months later to tell me to provision the better service... sheer lunacy! I guess my rant stems from the fact that Taco has one of the largest sites for donkey fans and he's doing them a dis-service by not staying on top of his upgrades etc... just like my former clients!
