| | The Official Every Reason Why Porter Must Go Now Thread ( The Pyritt Edition )!!!! There is information on the net that Jerry Porter is bitching about Art Shell being our coach. A couple of people said that there was an interview in which porter said that he preferred Mike Martz as a coach and that he didn't want any discipline.
Well folks... I've been luke warm on porter for the last 2 seasons... I think that after 6 years he should be in the top 10 as a receiver. If any of this ( Unverified rumor so far ) is true I think that Porter will need to consult with Marcus Allen very soon! Personally I want to see Gabriel or Morant get their shot! |

There have been bullsh*t stories before, but given Porter's track record, I don't think this is one of them. He did have "words" with Art Shell on their first meeting and the animosity with him and Gruden is well known. Porter is shooting himself and I for one have had it with his attitude. If Art has learned anything, he should've learned that guys like Porter are, and will be a cancer on the team, just like Chester McGloclin (spelling?) was on his earlier team. To hell with Porter. He signed for the money and has been mediocre at best. The a$$hole needs to put up or shut up!! |

steve corkan said that they just went over what is expected of porter to do this season when they met and coach had a little bit of critcisim toward him. corkan is the on who reported it by the way. He said after that jerry was really starting to warm to coach shell and that he was really buying into shell's system. ive still NEVER heard this anywhere else.

| | First of all... the more crying we have in training camp is better, just ask the Giants they cried their eyes out last year in training camp and ESPISSN could not get enough of it,and by the way, they had a really good year,so I guess crying is better than fat ass'n and believing that some miracle will happen like winning more than 4 games.
MORE CRYING!

| | lets be honest here. as much as woodson got ragged on. i better not see any loyalty to Porter. he has defined underachievement. i felt it was a bad move to resign him and he just doesnt play up to his potential on an every game basis. the worst part is he never takes the blame for it. last year he blamed collins, the year before he blamed learning a new offense. while learning a new offense and playing hurt for half the season randy moss put up better numbers overall. i'm tired of Porters excuses and bitching about discipline. he hated gruden, so i fully expect his weakass to hate shell. i just wish that tard norv woulda played morant so we coulda seen if he was capable of stepping up along with gabriel in Porters place. |

people thought nate burleson was an all pro receiver playing next to moss. soon as Moss is gone, he plays like dogg poo. if HE can get high stats playing with Moss, then it should be easy for Jerry Porter. |

I completely agree with you. Porter has cried and blamed everyone and everything but himself for his lack of production. He was given the big contract and has played like crap. He was in Grudens' doghouse cuz he did not like Gruden criticizing his play. Gruden said he was a good receiver but he would hold the ball like a loaf of bread (and he did hold the ball like a loaf of bread). Porter would not take the helpful criticism, but cried like a baby. He needs stop the whining and play like he deserves the money and contract he received. |

| | As good as people think Porter is,or he thinks he is, He aint a Moss or Owens and that seems to be an issue with him,if he cant stretch the field he should not be on the field so much, hes a short yardage reciever who mostly breaks tackles for long gains, thats when he catches the ball,we need to stretch the field, look for Porter to be used like the 6th man in Basketball if at all.
With all our receivers why cant we just set some kinda f'king record throwing the ball? what do we have to lose?.
