It also didn't hurt that both had the greatest WR in NFL history to throw to. But Manning and Gannon were just like head coaches on the field. Take Walsh and the then unstoppable west coast offense away from Montana and I'm not sure he's as sharp. Take the mafia, aka Debartolo away from Young and then that 1994 #1 offense, #1 Defense, superbowl champ team doesn't exist. Prior to that year Young was still just trying to get out of the Montana shadow. I can't imagine what are last impresion of Young would have been if he didn't get that 1 ring. I mean people still give flack to Marino who is maybe greatest of all time so you know Young would have got it worse. Last point is that if you took Dungy from Manning or Gruden from Gannon in the middle of one of their seasons then they still don't skip a beat.
You can't really say it better than that. I'm totally with you about Marino BTW. If miami had a Running back when marino was in his prime... The dolphins could have won a few SB's

Well unfortuantly I dont, think that its gunna matter because Russel doesnt seem like he's really ready to play with the big boys. First he's too heavy he doesnt have the mobility to get around like he wants to try and do. 2nd he cant really be that pocket passer that he could develop into unless we really try and revamp the line. I mean sure Gallery and Cooper can hold down the gaurd possitions but look at our tackles we have green who always looks a little slow to react and Harris, and no offence but he didnt even start for the niners at right tackle and wer are making him start at left arguable the most important position on the entire line!! SRY Kiff but WTF were you and AL thinking. So Im thinking Russell makes it being the golden boy for this year, while McFadden and Fargus carry the Offensive load then come draft day there's gunna be this tall sleek west coast style QB out of Florida who will make AL slobber

Too big & cant move???? Dude you gotta let go of espns 3 month old poorly informed news. He can move as well as most MLBs in the league & hes as big or bigger than most of them as well. Hes a 270 lbs freak of nature, but hes far from too big. I think youll be suprised to see the tackles that this kid breaks because of his size & athletism.

It isnt espn just look at him, look at how he played in his only progame he didnt move well, and even if you look at the college level he was out running any linebackers there and this is a whole new ballgame i men hell i love the raiders and i hope he develops into a good pocket passer but the last thing we need is another mike vick wanna be....

Question

A WCO style QB that makes Al slobber?

Huh?

Are we talking about Al Bundy or Al Davis?

Next, why are wertalking about this now?

Does anyone really think we can properly evaluate him as of now?

I think that being coached by Gannon would both be a good thing and a scary thing! haha! You're right Maximus about McCown. I do agree with you.

I feel nothing one way or another about it.

I never was a Gannon fan.
