Both of our dogs are black... one's a purebred cocker spaniel and the other one's a Black lab/Newfoundland mix... he looks like a black lab on steroids. For an idea of how big he is... he weighed 90 lbs before he was neutered... he's half again that heavy now. Nobody comes into our yard uninvited...LOL

My Raider dog... I was originally going to go for a pure black and white one, but you just can't pin down what color they will be as puppies. He's an Alaskan Malamute, and his name is Kaskae Tikaani. (Think Cosco, but ending with an "ay") It translates to Chief Wolf. I was originally thinking of naming him Fred Bilitnikof, but I went with an Inuit Indian name instead.

Yeah, according to the movie, there were two out of the whole bunch. the two anchors. One looks almost just like my dog, but just a little bigger. Mine's about 80lbs. My brother has one thats 105lbs. And, we breed too, I've got one for my dad who, at 4 months old, is 57lbs.!! He's gunnna be a monster. (For refference, my dog was 40-42lbs. at 4 months old)

A lab in and of itself is a big dog. But a Newfy, they're real big. Your dog looks like he's one of those super mellow dogs when it's night time in the living room. Just lying around, right up until there's a knock at the door. Betchya he's got one deep ass bark!

When I was trying to decide what kind of dog I want, It was between Alaskan Malamute, German Shepard (from Germany), a Newfy, a Great Pyranese, or a Golden Retriever. I ended up with the Mal, cause my brother had one. (That turned into a total of 6 in the immediate family.) But any of them would have made an excellent choice.

I love the story about the Newfy that was one a ship that went down just about a couple hundred yards off shore. The dog, single handedly, pulls every member of the ship to shore. They have webbed feet to help them swim. They were built for swimming. Great dogs.

Yeah, he's huge...but so mellow... once someone's been invited inside the gate. When they're standing in the driveway, though... if he doesn't know them well, he acts very aggressive... jumping at the fence and barking like crazy. You're right about his bark...it's very deep. He absolutely hates the UPS delivery guy... when he hears the truck coming several blocks away, he goes totally bonkers. LOL

Newfies are really great dogs...I love 'em.
